We Thank The County Officials Of Both Counties Who Supplied Maps And Were Helpful To Us In Many Other Ways. It Is Possible That A Few Stones Have Been Misread. Graves Were Sometimes Quite A Long Ways From Headstones. Compiled And Edited For The Fargo Genealogy Society Volume 3 1972
They mention above that it is possible that a few stones were misread. I know some of these stones are in very poor condition and I'm sure they used their best guesses in many cases. The stones would probably be almost impossible to read now. My copy of their manuscript was also very difficult to read. This was by far the most difficult scanning and OCR (optical character recognition) project I ever attempted. I usually have much less than 1% OCR errors. I had about 50% OCR errors with this document. In some cases, it appears their typewriter ribbon was almost completely used up in the original manuscript and then became fainter over the years. Certain keys on their typewriter did not strike the paper propelrly. When they made typing errors, they backspaced and typed over the erroneous character making it nearly impossible to read the characters in many cases. I used my guesses on their manuscript in many cases. I apologize for all mistakes.
The three cemeteries below were mentioned in the index, but I couldn't find them in the manuscript. I will look for them during the summer of 2001, time permitting.
